I can’t believe how fast the summer flew by this year. Again, our summer was marked with some continued construction projects. Most should be ready for the first day of school. Some new sidewalks, bleachers and auditorium lighting upgrades are near completion. We have a couple smaller projects to finish, including the Bobcat for the roundabout that we have been waiting on to be delivered.

We are excited to welcome a new group of 9th grade students to Sky View High School and to get back last year’s freshmen, sophomores and juniors. This year we will continue our focus on being present in the classroom. We had a noticeable increase in class attendance and a decrease in tardies last year. We also enjoyed better follow through from students when absences did occur. We appreciate all of your efforts to prioritize being in class and being on time. This year we will also be focusing on limiting distractions in the classroom as we address the Governor’s cell phone mandate for all schools.

Enjoy the last few days of summer and we can’t wait to see you here soon. The halls and classrooms are just halls and classrooms until the students come back. The energy and positive vibes just don’t exist until we have the heartbeats and voices of our students.

NO OFFICIAL REGISTRATION

There will be no official Registration days required for the 25-26 school year.

Beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, general registration fees may no longer be charged by schools in Utah and are no longer part of the approved fee schedule.

The following fees will no longer be charged by schools:

Activity Fee - $55

Lab Fee - $25

Postage Fee $5

The following fees will still be charged:

Class Fees - will be charged at the beginning of each trimester according to the approved fee schedule.

Graduation Fees - $35 (Seniors only)

Optional fees:

Yearbooks - $48 and can be paid online anytime at https://ccsdut.schoolcashonline.com/

Lockers - $5 (Students desiring to have a locker must pay the optional/additional $5 to receive a locker assignment and combination. Students may obtain a locker assignment and pay the fee in the Main Office during the week of August 11^th-15th, 9:00am-1:00pm. Students will also be able to get a locker any time during the school year.)

BIG UPDATE FOR SCHEDULE CHANGES THIS YEAR!

Schedules will be available in PowerSchool on the afternoon of August 8th. If your schedule is incomplete or you wish to change your classes, you may schedule a time to meet with a counselor. In order to accommodate more students AND reduce wait times, schedule changes will be by appointment only this year. Each appointment will be 7 minutes and will be focused on schedule changes only. Counselors will be prioritizing 1st trimester changes, but they will make changes for 2nd and 3rd trimester if there is time to do so during that 7-minute meeting. If your 1st trimester schedule is complete, please consider waiting to adjust your schedule after school starts. Any questions about online courses, NCAA qualifications, etc. can and should wait to be answered until after 1st trimester has begun. Counselors will be available for schedule change appointments by grade level on the following days:

SENIOR DAY: August 12th

JUNIOR DAY: August 13th

SOPHOMORE DAY: August 14th

FRESHMEN DAY: August 15th

In order to respect our counselor’s time, schedule changes will NOT be made over the phone or by email. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment. The online scheduler will open for appointments on August 8th.

REMINDER OF SCHEDULE CHANGE POLICY: The Sky View Counseling Department highly encourages all schedules changes be made BEFORE a trimester starts. However, schedule changes can be made during the FIRST 3 DAYS of a trimester. Counselors will NOT be available to change schedules between or during class time. Counselors will be available 30 minutes before and after school as well as during all of RCK Hour for schedule changes. These updates to our schedule change policy are meant to support students and teachers by prioritizing in-class instruction time.

Important Dates

BOBCAT ACADEMY/FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

School will begin on Tuesday, August 19th for Freshman and new students who will participate in an orientation on that day. (8:00am-1:30pm) School pictures for Freshmen will be taken on this day as well. Buses will run on a Friday schedule. All students will attend on Wednesday, August 20^th.

SCHOOL PICTURES

School pictures for ID cards and for the Yearbook will NOT be taken before school starts.

Freshmen will have their pictures taken on Bobcat Academy Day, Tuesday, August 19^th. You may pre-order picture packages taken on this day at mylifetouch.com using Picture Day ID EVT2PCVHC

All other students will have their school pictures taken on Thursday, September 11^th during the school day. There will be a Make-Up picture day on Thursday, October 16^th. The Picture Day ID codes for these days will be available as we get closer to those dates.

Students will be given a temporary ID card without a picture the 1^st day of school and permanent ID’s will be distributed after pictures are taken.

ORDERING DIPLOMAS

All Seniors must fill out a digital form to order their Diploma for graduation. Click on the link or scan the QR code below to order a diploma. A link to the Google Form will also be emailed out to each Senior and their parents. Please make sure that form has been filled out and submitted before the end of September.
