Advanced Placement (AP) at Sky View High School
The Advanced Placement (AP) Program at Sky View High School provides students with the opportunity to take college-level courses while still in high school. These rigorous courses challenge students to think critically, analyze complex concepts, and engage in meaningful discussions—all skills that will benefit them in college and beyond. Each AP course has a corresponding exam in May.
Participation in AP courses demonstrates academic commitment to colleges and universities. Studies show that students who take AP classes are better prepared for the demands of college coursework. Additionally, passing an AP exam can earn students college credit or allow them to skip introductory courses at many colleges and universities nationwide.
If you're interested in taking an AP class, your counselor can help you decide which courses align with your academic and college goals.
Why Take AP Classes?
- Stand Out to Colleges: AP coursework shows universities that you are serious about academics and prepared for challenging coursework.
